Balanced Performance

Using uniaxial penetration, semi-circle bending, and fatigue tests, the recommended mixes simultaneously meet rutting resistance, cracking resistance, and fatigue requirements, avoiding the drawback of optimizing only one property.

Higher Fatigue Life

BBME-13 and EME-20 mixtures have higher fatigue lives and lower sensitivity to stress than AC-16, making them more suitable for repeated loading.

Lower Grade, Longer Life

For BBME-13 and AC-16, reducing the asphalt grade significantly increased fatigue life and decreased sensitivity to stress, providing a direction for material optimization.

Applications

• Long-life Pavement：The recommended balanced mixtures can be used to design long-life pavements, reducing maintenance frequency and extending service life.
