Synergistic bulk and surface boron co-doping activates 3-coordinated oxygen in B-Ti-O units as active sites, promoting electron transfer, suppressing recombination, and optimizing H* adsorption-desorption, enabling efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution without a co-catalyst.
