Label-free, 3-order higher sensitivity

Without antibody or aptamer modification, this substrate exploits high-order waveguide modes of nanorods for direct detection of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in untreated saliva, achieving detection limits three orders of magnitude lower than the best reported label-free substrates.
