The abundant adsorption sites provided by rigid NiFe-LDH lamellae enable rapid anchoring of the nanocomposite on metal surfaces, synergistically forming a protective film with MoS₂.
Exceptional anti-wear performance is maintained at 150°C in steel-steel contacts, significantly outperforming neat PAO6 and OA-MoS₂ alone, indicating sufficient thermal stability for high-temperature operation.
At 75°C and 392 N, the coefficient of friction decreases to 0.066, a 36% reduction compared to base oil, leading to lower energy consumption and wear.
